The Pro’s and Con’s of using Wooden Pallets versus Plastic Pallets

Why use wooden pallets over plastic?
- The expense of plastic pallets is greater than wooden pallets. Plastic pallets cost 3-5 times more than wooden pallets, which will result in significant savings if buying in bulk regularly.
- If damage to a plastic pallet occurs, it is not a simple process to repair. The pallet would have to be melted down and remolded. Wooden pallets are easier to repair, as they are made with various boards which can be removed and replaced if broken or as necessary.
- Have high friction compared to plastic and metal pallets
- Wooden pallets are biodegradable, and Can be recycled into mulch and paper.
- Plastic pallets release toxic gases when burned
